Glad you're visiting our page & taking the time to get to know us! We are Tommy and Kerrie Sherman and we have 2 daughters, and 2 grandsons, we're pretty smitten. Tommy has been in the automotive repair field for 39 years working on all types of vehicles. He is factory trained in Honda/Acura vehicles and also in General Motors products. The original Import Tek opened in 1997 and was at the former location until 2002. In October of 2002 the automotive shop exploded due to a propane leak and Tommy was in and out of burn centers and surgeries for close to 4 years. He was told his hands wouldn't be able to stand working on vehicles ever again, but he proved them all wrong. He will forever have pain from the accident, but he's not one to sit around & do nothing. He knows the meaning of a hard days work & earning a living. In 2007, he was able to start work again & eased back into it managing another auto repair shop until March of 2010. It was at this time that an opportunity arose and he was able to reopen his shop. Over the years since then, we've made many new friends through our business, gathered awesome loyal customers, who stood by us during Tommy's Leukemia battle, and waited for us to return! Tommy is now cancer free! Tommy does all the mechanical work ~ that way he knows whats being done & that it is done right! I ( Kerrie ) take care of the office and customer service. Together we own Sherman's Import Tek. Here the motto is "We treat you the way we would want to be treated!" There's no hidden costs or price gouging. Now we do occasionally get the call, asking if we charge for a checkout ...the answer is yes, we acknowledge this economy is hard right now, but just like you at your job, we don't work for free and inspecting a vehicle takes time & knowledge, along with overhead costs. You may get a shop that tells you there's not a checkout charge, but believe us, they will get that cost somewhere midst a repair. Our goal is to provide the best possible value to every person who shops with us. That's why we offer our best pricing upfront, without special discounts or gimmicks to get you in the door. We provide a estimate after a full checkout of your concerns, before ever doing a repair. We strive to make your vehicle repair as stress free and quick as possible. Quality work is always our #1 priority. Friendly down home service is what you can expect here! We are big believers in continued education, and take part in many classes to keep up to date. Technology is constantly evolving. Tommy is ASE Master Technician certified. On our off time, we enjoy being with family, finding new food places to try out, supporting local animal rescues, volunteering at food pantry's, reading, puzzles, being a backyard barbecue enthusiast which the family seems to enjoy, achieving 5ks to Half Marathons! We love getting off to Eureka Springs to go glamping when we can & of course getting to take the occasional extra day off, to go see the grand kids & get those laughs in, that only they can cause! We're huge animal lovers, most times you will see or hear our furbabies at our shop!
